Kindness Initiative believes no Jewish household in San Diego County should face life’s challenges alone. Through our wrap-around services, Kindness Initiative team seeks to alleviate the pressures and complexity of financial insecurity, by assisting Members to access the resources they need to achieve self sufficiency.

Adopt-A-KindnessFamily (AKF) allows you or your organization to make a substantial difference in the life of a specific, local Jewish individual or household, through a monthly contribution of $360, per Member. One hundred percent of AKF gifts goes directly to the family each month, and you receive a tax deduction for supporting them through Kindness Initiative.

The monthly funds can be life-transforming for Kindness Initiative Member that is struggling with impossible financial choices: paying for food or medicine; rent or utilities, transportation or child care. For Kindness Initiative Members who have lost jobs, become ill, face mounting financial challenges, or are on the brink of homelessness, AKF funds make a significant difference in preventing displacement, and the downward spiral of ever more difficult circumstances.

You can help San Diego families to mitigate these hardships, by committing to a 12-month recurring donation. Once you complete the “AKF Sponsorship Form” below, your gift will be matched with a specific Kindness Initiative Member. If you know of a specific family you would like to adopt, you can work through the assist them through Kindness Initiative. As an AKF sponsor, we will share information with you about the Member you are supporting, and how your financial support is making a difference in their ability to live with dignity and hope, for the future. If both the donor and the family agree, we will be happy to introduce them so they can get to know one another, although either party may choose to remain anonymous, and we will honor that wish.
