Volunteers are the backbone of the organization and will provide a unique and substantial opportunity for making a difference and changing lives for the better. If you can spare 1-2 hours a week, we have opportunities for you!
New to volunteering? Kindness Initiative will teach you what you need to know for your volunteer role. All volunteers participate in an orientation and job-specific training, before they start. There is also on-going support and additional training to ensure you have the skills to be effective. For more information on Volunteer Training click here
Kindness Initiative relies heavily on volunteer support to
ANGELS: The Volunteer Angel serves as the core of the Kindness Initiative. After on-boarding and training, Angels are matched with a Member (Members may be individuals or households). The role of the Angel is to develop rapport, open lines of communication, and help the client navigate through a customized plan to address their unique circumstances. AMBASSADORS: The Volunteer Ambassador plays a critical role in supporting Angels, in their efforts to assist Members. Ambassadors cultivate and maintain relationships with critical Service Provider Organizations, in order to ensure smooth access for Kindness Initiative Members. Ambassadors may also serve as representatives of the Kindness Initiative during coalition meetings and other networking events. View the Ambassador job description HERE
ADMINISTRATORS: Volunteer Administrators help keep Kindness Initiative operating smoothly, and help reduce overhead costs, so more funds are available to help our Members in need. This is a role requiring on-going commitment. See the list of needed Administrator positions HERE.
ASSIGNMENT VOLUNTEERS: The Assignment Volunteer is a short-term commitment to expand Kindness Initiative’s operational capacity, by leading a specific project or initiative. The volunteer leads the project until its conclusion, after which their assignment ends. He or she may wish to take on other assignments, but there is no on-going time commitment.
